Hydroxypropyl Methacrylate (CAS: 27813-02-1) is a colorless functional methacrylate monomer supplied as a mixture of 2-hydroxypropyl and 2-hydroxy-1-methylethyl methacrylate isomers. It contains both a polymerizable methacrylate group and a hydroxyl group.
This structure improves adhesion, crosslinking, water resistance, and chemical resistance in acrylic polymer systems. The monomer is normally stabilized with MEHQ during storage and transport.
It is widely used in coatings, adhesives, sealants, dental materials, hydrogels, and specialty polymers.
