2-phenol
2-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)phenol (CAS 160968-99-0), also known as 2,2,2-trifluoro-2′-hydroxyphenetole or 2-(trifluoroethoxy)phenol, is a fluorinated aromatic alcohol supplied as a colourless to pale liquid or low-melting solid at 98 percent purity and classified as a skin irritant. It combines a phenolic hydroxyl group with a trifluoroethoxy side chain, a substitution pattern that markedly lowers the pKa of the phenol and raises lipophilicity relative to the parent phenetole.
