Dimethicone (CAS 63148-62-9), also known as polydimethylsiloxane or PDMS, is a linear silicone polymer with repeat unit (C₂H₆OSi)ₙ or [Si(CH₃)₂O]ₙ. Viscosity grades range widely; the 350 cSt grade is common in cosmetic and industrial applications. It is used as an emollient, antifoam and protective barrier.
