Dimethyl Phthalate, or DMP, is a short-chain phthalate ester used as a plasticizer, solvent, and specialty chemical intermediate.
It provides good compatibility with cellulose-based polymers and is known for its relatively high polarity compared with longer-chain phthalates.
The product is used in coatings, adhesives, cellulose plastics, insect repellents, and selected industrial formulations.
