Poloxamer
Poloxamer is a family of nonionic triblock copolymers with a central polypropylene oxide segment flanked by polyethylene oxide chains. Its amphiphilic structure provides emulsification, wetting, solubilization and foam control. Commercial grades vary by EO/PO ratio and chain length; specifications are defined by average molecular weight and oxyethylene content rather than a single formula.
• Emulsification: stabilizes oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions.
• Solubilization: improves dispersion of hydrophobic actives in aqueous systems.
• Personal care: used in cleansers, creams and hair-care formulations.
• Industrial cleaning: provides wetting and detergency.
