Rhodium(III) Oxide
Rhodium(III) Oxide (CAS: 12036-35-0) is an anhydrous, grey to black rhodium oxide powder supplied at high purity with a consistent rhodium content. It is insoluble in ordinary solvents but is readily reduced or dissolved for further processing, which makes it a practical intermediate for catalyst manufacture and for preparing rhodium metal and rhodium salts. In catalysis it supports oxidation, hydrogenation and automotive emission-control functions, and it is also explored as a component of electronic and optical thin films. The powder is stable in air, non-hygroscopic, and is packed in sealed containers for precious-metal accountability.
• Catalyst manufacture: a rhodium source for three-way automotive catalysts, oxidation and hydrogenation systems.
• Precious-metal processing: used as an intermediate for producing rhodium metal, salts and plating chemicals.
• Electronic and optical films: applied in the deposition of rhodium-containing functional layers.
• Research applications: employed in studies of rhodium oxide electrochemistry, sensing and surface chemistry.
